Calgary Waterwalker Film Fest

Hosted once again by Undercurrents Sports.

The Waterwalker Film Fest is a travelling collection of the best canoeing, kayaking and environmental films of the year. Think Banff Mountain Film Festival with water!

The evening is the “official” kick-off of the sumer season. There are entertaining films, door prizes and a chance to catch up with old friends. There will be at the information fair, featuring canoe/kayak organizations, before the event and at intermission.

Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door. They are available in person at Undercurrents Sports. Or, if you order tickets by phone at 403-262-GEAR you can pick them up at the "Will Call" at the door.

Driving Directions from Edmonton:
From Hwy 2, take exit #401 for 67 St/11E toward Red Deer. Turn left at Hwy 11 and travel 3.4 km. Turn right at Gaetz Ave and travel 1.6 km. Turn left at 55 St and travel 1 km. Left at 44 Ave and travel .3 km. Turn right at 58 St and school on the left. Enter front entrance. Meeting room is to the left.

2009 Leave No Trace Canada--Alberta Master Trainer Course

EMAIL Paddle Alberta IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ATTENDING A COURSE in SUMMER 2009

This is a canoe-based MASTER TRAINER course on the North Saskatchewan River near Rocky Mountain House. You will learn how to Train others to be Trainers in the Leave No Trace principles and practices as applied to paddling-related activities in and around natural water environments.

After the course, you can provide Trainer Sessions to others who can in turn provide awareness level sessions to their Paddle Alberta Members and the public.

On this Trainer Course, you will be canoe tripping on the North Saskatchewan River near Rocky Mountain House; thus you must bring your own paddling equipment and food, and everything you will need to trip on the river. You will be responsible for your own transportation to and from the course. Consider car pooling. This Course is subsidized by Paddle Alberta for Paddle Alberta Members.

Help your paddling organization contribute to protecting your paddling environment. Register early as their is a limit.
